It seems hard to believe that the “standard American diet” could really be so bad for us. Everyone eats this way, so it must be ok, right?
If the food available at most restaurants is any indication, we are primarily eating huge portions of bread and pasta made from refined flour, meat and dairy from industrially raised animals, poor-quality and/or very few fats, and perhaps a small amount of fruits and vegetables grown in nutrient-depleted soils. And don’t forget sugar-laden desserts. And beer.
But what happens when we start to question the quality and composition of the food we eat?
We discover there are much healthier options out there! These options are somewhat more difficult to come by, but the rewards for starting down the path of discovering the whys and hows of consuming a properly prepared, nutrient-dense, whole foods diet are well worth the effort.
food choices can impact these typical issues:
afternoon fatigue
frequent night waking
achey/stiff joints
anxiety
digestive issues
hormone/fertility problems
hot flashes/night sweats
